Beg to disagree

It is down to over prescription, most especially for viral infections which antibiotics are useless for, followed by far too many idiots failing to finish the course (well, I felt better, doc) leaving living organisms which have become immune to that particular drug.
Antibiotics in animals are given over a lifetime, thus no immune organisms survive. And antibiotics and bacteria alike are destroyed in the course of cooking.
