Bit harsh on Lambert

he was probably the most influential person in changing the fortunes of the club when it was at its lowest ebb for decades. He was hugely responsible for putting us on a sound financial footing.

His departure seemed to be precipitated as much by a falling out with the board as with his ambitions. And anyway, Alex Neil will most probably do the same one day; if he is ambitious enough to leave the club where his heart and roots were to go to a bigger club, then he is certainly going to leave us when a decent opportunity arises.
