he was probably the most influential person in changing the fortunes of the club when it was at its lowest ebb for decades. He was hugely responsible for putting us on a sound financial footing.
His departure seemed to be precipitated as much by a falling out with the board as with his ambitions. And anyway, Alex Neil will most probably do the same one day; if he is ambitious enough to leave the club where his heart and roots were to go to a bigger club, then he is certainly going to leave us when a decent opportunity arises.
