it's a symbol, but a symbol that you can give your own meaning to. I wear it in

memory of the poor bloody soldiery who may have as likely died due to government incompetence or flawed military strategy as enemy action. I don't buy into the "died for this country" crap - many soldiers have died in shameful wars like the invasion and occupation of Iraq, and their deaths are just as worthy of commemoration.
