The Prem has this effect on so many promoted sides though

Come up brimful of confidence, used to winning and scoring bucketloads, and thinking "why not us? Let's have some of this".

Then a few unlucky defeats later - usually to much more clinical sides - and the heads start to drop, the errors start coming, and sides naturally lose belief. We're not efficient enough with the chances we have - and if we have to score twice to stand a chance of winning any game, it's tough. Really tough.
