Before people take this the wrong why I'm only asking a question in not trolling or being a scum c@nt as people like to call me when I look at things from another angle.
After seeing that Boro knocked out Man U last night it raised the question of whether they would have done better in the prem than we have if they had won on that glorious day in May at Wembley?
I think it's safe to say that would have invested in new players more than we have as they did this anyway even though they are still in the champs as they have bought Downing, Nugent & co for big money. I think their manager being a bit of a name Would also have attracted bigger foreign names.
I do wonder whether there defensive style would have been more suited to the prem than our possession based football? I love our style of play when it works as its much better to watch however we do struggle to keep clean sheets where as Karanka seems to play a very defensive style.
I personally think they would have ground out enough points to stay up with their negative style however I think this is a reflection on the way football is going thanks to Pullis/Big Sam etc which I hate.
All I know is that that day in May was worth all the bad days we will have this season and I'm glad we beat them although it does cross you mind for a split second after games like Saturday whether it would have been better to stay in the champs .
