He was at WBA last season and was frozen out once Pulis came in, could have been a factor?

What with all this talk of the defence, I don't really understand splashing out on a left winger in the summer but still playing him at LB even when our natural LB is back fit and on the bench? Having said that, it isn't the root of our problems, that is more that the Board failed AN / were incredibly naive in the summer.
