I think it's because he's a bit of a gamble for sure-thing money

Think he's on something like ?40k a week at Blackburn and they want silly money for him.

I think he'd be a good PL player, but for ?18m plus ?50k a week there's better players and probably people as good available for a lot less elsewhere.
