I'm not sure that just running and closing down the opposition is the answer

you can't sustain that for 90 minutes, and anyway a lot of teams in the Premier League are good enough to pass it around you unless the team works 100% effectively as a unit.

We just get caught too much on the break because too many men are upfield and we don't have the pace to get back quickly enough. The answer is just not to commit so many men forward, and not to play so many risky passes when we have committed men forward. That, however, would severely blunt our attacking threat.
