1. Taking Tettey out makes us more effective going forward;
2. Taking Wes out makes us more solid defensively.
Neither is true. Tettey is brilliant at sweeping up the ball in midfield and giving the others a platform to play.He's nearly always in the right place and when he isn;t he can often get back to foul them to stop the opposition move.
Wes in the tam links everything and helps us retain possession a lot better. That in turn takes pressure off the defence as does his ability to receive a pass when under pressure.
