Fair enough but how do you know how good my history is?

Euro 96 - we didn't 'qualify' for it (plus I bang on about how great we were)

1998 - Good side, but lost to an ageing Romania in the group stages

2002 - Won only two matches, surrendered meekly in second half against Brazil following Sven's IDS speech

2004 - We were decent, tbf, especially Rooney and the comeback v Croatia. But still restricted against the top sides by Sven insisting on playing 4-4-2
