As a linguist I don't like the "anything goes" argument.

Language evolves, sure, but out of necessity, not based on whims which are by definition temporal. Business talk affects a lot of us and excludes even more, and if you ask me, that's its primary purpose. Turning nouns into verbs is also linguistic laziness. Verbing is slothing us all up.

Playing with language is a totally different thing and should be encouraged, however.
