i was mulling over chopping an olympic swimmers head off

and surgically re-attaching it back to front so that he, or she, could swim with its "blow-hole" premanently out of the water thereby saving energy and gaining a competitive edge over it's fellow olympians. surprised nobody has thought of it before to be honest but sometimes, the best ideas are quite literally staring you in the face. or not. the diving in part could be an obstacle but i think we could get round that with some training up the uea and affixing some dissolvable rear view mirrors. nailed on sackful of golds for team gb.
