Blair

Sold the commons the idea of 'wmd' - so he gained the support of the opposition.

When you think about blair tho you must give him credit for moving labour to the right to appeal to far more middle england (the majority) - he knew how to win elections.

I agree with you that theres good and bad in all parties - and many of the bad ones, imo, are only in it for career advancment and self gain. Least men like John Smith and WEdgewood Benn were men of principle. Actually, and i know this wont be popular, but so was Thatcher. Some would argue Corbyn is a man of principle (not singing the national anthem etc). - great - but as this continues over 5 years he will lose labour more and more votes.... The further left his economic policies the more and more it will lose potential votes. We've seen it all before ..... 1979. The fact that some 7 labour MP's have resigned from the front bench is testament to that.

I actually dont revell in this - i think its far healthier for the country to have a decent strong viable opposition at any time to oppose whoever is in government....
