if true then it is incredible business by the NCFC board. He's almost 29, struggles in the Premier League and doesn't strike me as the type that would be happy sitting on the bench. His season last season reminded a lot of Gary Doherty's in League One, the drop in quality benefitted him enormously and he therefore went a long way to proving doubters "wrong" and became a hero in a side of heroes. He now leaves with plenty of goodwill, which if he had played a lot in the Premier League would have disappeared.
I think he will probably struggle to live up to the price tag at Derby, if he is played central midfield then his limitations on the ball, even in The Championship, will be exposed. If he is played LM then it is unlikely he will match the heights of last season. He peaked at just the right time for us.
