This is just the way it is with us, isn't it?

'Ambition' has always been the watchword at NCFC - at least, ever since I started following the club in 1989. It was under Chase, it is under Delia: two steps forward, two steps back, always that sense of unrealised (unrealisable?) potential, but matched under Delia with a sense of how bad things could easily be with an owner who didn't care or run us properly.

Then factor in players not joining us because Norwich is "out of the way" (Sunderland have had similar issues for so long now), and the club, quite rightly in my view, not prepared to piss money away hand over fist to agents.

It's frustrating as hell - but as things stand, we're doing well to be in this league at all. It doesn't look like we'll ever REALLY grow in prominence unless a sugardaddy takes over: which a) is pretty unlikely with FFP in place; and b) few of us really want anyway.

Sad - but given it's gone on for decades under different owners, it doesn't look like these issues can be resolved. It's just our place in the food chain sadly.
