Worst is the London mara where you have to go to the f**king Excel Centre during work hours the week before the Sunday run so lots of people can try to sell you s**tloads of stuff you haven't trained with but they unaccountably think you're going to use on race day just 72 hours hence.
Running a race with gear you haven't broken in or nutrition products you haven't trained with is a really, really good way to get injured or sick and not complete the run you've been training 4/5 months for.
