Zamora made 31 prem apps last season

So not sure where the injury comment comes from.

Also, whoscored has QPR down as having started with 2 up top for 28 of their league games last season. So just 10 with a lone striker. Obviously there were a fair few games where Zamora came on as a sub too.

That was the bigger point to take from this, that Austin's success generally came from playing in a front two.

Not saying he can't be successful as a lone striker, but that's where some of the doubt comes from. If he can do it by himself, it doesn't make sense that QPR would play with 2 up front so often and leave themselves exposed elsewhere. Hopefully if we end signing him, he proves otherwise.
