personally I think it is more to do with the brave policy of retaining

what was deemed a premiership squad in the championship, a number of those players all put there hand up and wanted to stay to get us promoted, they had to take a major pay cut but as the deal was if they got promoted they would go back up to the wage they were on in the Prem, we are now suffering because it is hard to get rid of the fringe players who are sitting taking easy money.
