The Gayle situation is strange

I heard from a random source (but one I trust) that we were sniffing a while ago.

Now stories appear in the press saying he's holding out for a move to Norwich but only Bristol City appear to have had a bid accepted.

I can understand if we had to wait for them to sign Wickham before they would let him go but there seems no reason why we can't sign him now if we want to. If we do then can only deduce that either we are waiting til we've flogged Hooper, RVW or Lafferty or the alternative is that McNally was waiting for tHe Bristol bid to fix the price or is now trying to squeeze that price knowing the player prefers a move to us.

Either way, I wish we would just get in with it if we do sign him because every time Grabban misses a sitter in one of our opening few winnable games our chances of staying up reduce just a little bit!
