It's no good scoring 1 if you're shipping 3 at the other end.
I think we are reasonably well equipped up front. For lone striker, CJ has improved and if fully fit he is decent. LG will miss more chances, but also does the job. Both have the athleticism and physicality to lead the line and open up space and chances for our midfielders. It would be great to have another really top notch striker, but that involves parting with a massive amount of cash for something that may only be a slightly better than what we already have and can fail for all sorts of reasons.
I say pay what it takes to get in a top quality central defender ASAP. That has to be the top priority. If we are going to spend big on a striker, then unless the price now is right, then we should hold fire and do business in January.
