In the last two seasons Sunderland and West Brom have stayed up with seven wins each. In 2013 we finished 11th with 10 wins.

If you look back at previous seasons, it's very rare that 38 points isn't enough to stay up. So if we are looking purely at survival, nine wins and a dozen draws should be enough... which isn't even one win in four.
