I had some dealings with him when he was at DCMS. He lacks the gravitas and charisma a top-level politician needs, and he's not half as bright as he thinks he is (it's fine not to be bright if you're a minister; but you need to know it).
Cooper can't shine even against Burnham, and Kendall - probably the most electable - is the least Labour. I think it's reasonable to ask "what's a Labour party for" - if the answer is "to win power" well she'd be Blair's daughter; but if the answer is "to make life better and the country fairer", well I'm not sure that's her.
Intellectually I doubt myself but emotionally I've found myself rooting for Corbyn from the get-go.
