release clauses don't mean that's what you have to pay to buy someone

They just mean that if someone bids that, then the club *has* to sell them (if the player wants to go).

(I'm not saying there's anything at all in this, btw. Just that a release clause doesn't mean anything much. If the selling club doesn't want it to.)
