One question is how much of that was defenders, vs lack of midfield cover for them

so imagine Mulumbu was brought in partly to address that. (And of course, we did concede a lot fewer goals once Neil was appointed.)

Suspect you still have a point though, even if 'utter madness' is a bit strong.
