I'm not arguing that we should have 4 teams in it, particularly. Just that this is meant to be a tournament that rewards league performance the previous season. We don't put the FA Cup winners in it, even tho they've won something.

I just don't think Liverpool can have any huge complaints if their abject league performance means they aren't in the champions league.
