I love country pursuits - shooting/stalking/fishing. There is a real skill to it, it is good for a social and it provides meat for my table. It also results in good environmental practice across most of the British countryside with a lot of conservation work too. Everything I eat that I've killed has had the best free range lifestyle that any animal can get, far better than some supermarket chicken.

However - paying money to kill a protected animal that is low in numbers and has been lured from a conservation area is idiotic and pig ignorant. He has done it for the trophy and not done it for conservation purposes. Just so he can brag about the kill. There are many big game species that are culled in Africa that people pay big money to shoot and the money is used for conservation and they are culling an animal that is not breeding/ill/old. This is completely different to what this jerk did.
