You mean, why is Froome the team leader and not Porte?

He's proved himself. Porte has, though, had a couple of goes at leading the team in 3 week tours (including this year's Giro D'Italia), and things have gone wrong each time. Bad luck involved (this time he got ill, and also got penalised time for taking a wheel from someone on another team), but still, it does seem that he might not quite It - the thing you need to take you onto the next level and win a Grand Tour.

Maybe not though. We'll see next year when he'll be the protected rider at BMC (one of the few teams with a bigger budget than Sky). He'll get a crack at at leading in at least one Grand Tour.
