It was the capital G wot dun it

It thinks that if you've capitalised it, it may be a place name or some such which it shouldn't correct

Thus if I type Englund (starting by typing a capital E) it will red line it but not correct it, because I used a capital, whereas if I type "englund" it autocorrects it to England

So if you'd typed "gulid" with a small g it would have corrected it
