We've still not found an opening partner for Cook who is reliable and Ballance needs a rest until he sorts his technique out.

the Aussie batting order is arguably not as strong as ours in terms of depth but rare that more than one of their top 4 or 5 gets out cheaply.

Butler also seems to be struggling a bit to translate one day form into tests which is weird as he looks imperious in the one day team.
