how can you take it as a criticism of the Queen? She was a child doing what adults were

telling her to do. I'm also guessing, given what she did in the war, that the queen mother had real notion of what the salute would come to mean.

But we were VERY lucky to have avoided Edward VIII as a king for long and for that reason I'm glad they published it.

I'm a little surprised that so many royalists are jumping in to defend the queen and her mother yet saying nothing about her uncle.
