indeed - I remember the Wigan game when we played him in the hole (the Wes position)

It was embarrassing frankly (think he might have been taken off at halftime). He is undoubtedly a very good finisher but he simply doesn't have enough about his game to fufil the many demands made of strikers in modern-day midfield-packing football. The days of 4-4-2 with two-man strike partnerships (which he'd have been well-suited to) are gone for most teams.
