I watched "Gascoigne" last night. He was threatened with death by the IRA

for doing that orangeman flute thing when he scored at Rangers.
He said the guy sent him his name and address and two telephone numbers "so I knew he was serious, like".

The police went to visit the guy in Ireland, came back 3 days later and told Gazza, "he's serious, he's going to kill you, but there's nothing we can do 'til he shows up in England".

A few weeks later he got another letter from the guy, which said, "I see you haven't done the flute thing recently so I'm not going to kill you after all, but if you do it again, I definitely will"
