cracked number plate

no other damage but the number plate will need replacing as i guess its a MOT failure. she said "oh, i suppose you want me to pay for it then?" erm no, don't worry about it that's ok I'll cover it I just wanted to see if you were OK, of course i want you to pay for it? what?
