I bet half of that went on the Francis deal, and as we eventually netted over 1 million more than Pompey were offering it seems like a reasonable return.

The deals for Wright & Robinson were necessary and effective, while I bet Ashton's new contract generated a fee for his agent.

The club is damned if it doesn't buy players and seemingly also damned if it does.
