Where did all the home kit go?

They never reduced the home kit from last season, just removed it from the shelves in all the shops and online. Is this what normally happens? I'm normally out of the country. Once the initial rush is over, will the remaining stock reappear and get sold off? I was hoping to pick one up in the sale. Seems silly to not sell them...
