Miele ones are cheaper, better, and don't look like something a 3 year old has put together with Duplo.
Dyson's are fine but IME they are over engineered (and therefore pretty fiddly and some are bulkier than they need to be) and over priced. I don't like their aesthetic but that's a personal choice.
If you have a pet, the Miele cat & dog is the dog's bollocks. My MIL has the Dyson equivalent and it's not as good in comparison.
They are both, however, better than a Henry which are rubbish for pet hair or lugging around the place (if you've got a small flat then a Hetty is probably fine - we had no problems when we had one but it struggled with a bigger house & pets). I suspect the Henrys are better vfm than an ordinary Dyson.
(FWIW our cleaner always tells her clients to ditch their Dysons in favour of Mieles)
