I spent two decades trying to recreate that free kick in various Saturday and Sunday leagues without getting near it. I did manage a penalty like it though when 4-0 up with a couple of minutes left. Even then your heart's in your mouth as you think it's flying over the bar. Great feeling though :-)

The most amazing thing about the Metgod goal is that Phil Parkes (I think) was in goal at around 6'5 and it was hit so hard he didn't even have a chance to reach the crossbar !
