Well....

When Blair was PM - introduced the minimum wage, improved workers rights, introduced Working Tax Credits, Child Tax Credits, got new schools and hospitals built etc. His downfall was to support the USA foreign polices.

When Brown was PM - the Tories were complaining that he was going too far introducing banking reg's (but he should have gone further), so it would see likely it would have been worse under the Tories.

You have to remember that the Tories were even opposed to introducing a minimum wage.
