I agree and disagree

It's the end of the season, he's entitled to go out and have fun. However, football clubs pay their players high wages on the condition that they make some sacrifices - it'll be in his contract that he doesn't get wasted or do anything that could negatively impact his health and ability to perform. As you say though, one drunken night doesn't turn you into an alcoholic but the club that pays his wages can't take a relaxed attitude to it as they won't want it to be a regular occurrence.

Re: you wouldn't tell Mel Gibson not to be anti-Semitic because you watch his films? Actually, I think you would be well within your rights to tell anyone not to be anti-Semitic regardless of what they do.
