I think I've avoided hearing it

because if I hear a lap steel and a load of other americana musicians, I'll want it to be exactly like that on stage (especially if there is a lap steel)

If he's only got a 3 or 4 piece band and bits missing, I'll lose my feelings towards it. So I've not listened to anything and he can blow my head off if he wants :)
