Surely we have 3 players who can play at RB (martin , whitts and R Bennett) and another (if he stays) could do a wing back type job (E Bennett). The latter might be the fastest of the lot and not get beaten for pace.

With a 25 man squad you want defenders who can play multiple positions so you can get away with just one CB on the bench.
