Current trend at tyre depots is to fill with nitrogen. Theory is

that it has larger molecules than normal air so doesn't leak so much over time. I have to admit, I didn't see the difference so wont pay the ?5 extra for it.
Not sure it would make much difference in a football anyway. Tyres, despite being 2sealed" can leak all around the periphery whereas a football bladder only has one exit path, that through the valve
