Call me old fashioned...

or just a bit slow but a questions been bothering me.

Apparently, we're down to the bare bones of an already very thin squad.

And apparently, there's a "transfer window" going on this month which means players can be bought from other clubs.

Now call me stupid, but I would have though that now would be the perfect time to - now this might seem silly but bear with me - sign some new players?

I know this seems utterly ridiculous - I'm laughing at the thought of it myself - but it seems that other clubs appear to be doing it.

And we can't POSSIBLY have run out of money - after all, with all the players we lost in the summer plus the Francis money and the parachute payments, we should be able to stump a few quid up.

No? Oh well, it's lucky we don't have any ambition then, let alone a desire to get back into the premiership.

But never mind - at least we're prudent. Maybe we'll win the Premiership Prudence title.
