True Wembley Facts

The foundation base of one end of the arch is about 70cm shy of encroaching on land not owned by the FA. No-one batted an eyelid in the planning and design stage.

But during the construction phase they were s**t scared they would cross the borderline, and have to fork out about another ?20m for the land off someone who was no doubt more gutted than an away season ticket holder who's bought a priority membership but just moved house and got no internet whatsoever.
