Dean Ashton - Having read alot of the press and media speculation

regarding Deano, i do really think that worthy and the board are playing a dangerous game.
They are dangling that carrot by saying that Deano is worth in the region of 7 to 7.5m. They are quoted as asking for this much to put clubs off. i've heard that Man City have come close to matching 7m
They have also come out and said that Deano is a major factor and has a big part to play in NCFC getting to the playoffs.
So why dont they then just say Deano is going no-where for less than 10m! Surely, that will then put off other clubs. Southampton have done it...Theo Walcott valued at 9m!
