he's not the kind of player that will get on the ball a lot and control the play or dictate the tempo of the game - which is why he is much better now he is out of central midfield.
He might not do anything of note for a while, but then will win a few crucial tackles in quick succession, win an important header against the odds, or will suddenly pop up on the edge of the box and get a shot away.
I wouldn't worry too much about him having two relatively quiet games; his good moments will be less frequent against the better teams in the league, but will still come eventually.
