Atmosphere Saturday

Lots of posts about how quiet the City fans were on Saturday, this might be how it came over on TV but I thought the 2000 or so kept it going throughout the game.

It?s a funny old ground, the low roof makes for good acoustics but in the away end you cannot hear the home fans especially the North Stand at all, even when they scored it?s a kind of muffled sound a bit like you?re outside the ground, they really need to move the away fans to the other end of the stand (as a few seasons ago) to create a better atmosphere.

The seats next to the away fans are usually empty so I can only assume the people sitting there were of the ?Johnny come Cardiff? variety, I know we have our share of ?special wig wearing? fans but some of the no neck, red faced, spud head types in there were great entertainment. Reminded me of the angry farmer in the old countryside code public information films when we scored, did one of them get into the family enclosure? All I saw was some guy getting hauled out by his hair by the look of it by the stewards.

Some young ?un spraying water at Mings as well, a silly thing to do, I assume he was ejected as well as his accompanying parent?

After the game we were not held back which was surprising. Coming out of the ground facing the fans from the Churchman?s separated by a barrier, ?banter? taking place only for the two sets of supporters to merge further up the road, I thought this was rather strange policing.

Decided to go to the Railway pub for refreshment before the game again strange policing here with some guy called Stavros climbing the fire escape to start a sing song, all good natured apart from some young ipo chav throwing a can into the crowd from the bridge, I later saw him blubbing while being nicked.

Do they usually water the pitch? Not sure if they we?re trying to make the playing surface detrimental to our game in some way?, looked like they had hired the equipment for the day!
