The scum appear to be considerably buoyed by getting that draw against us. Whether that's because the thought we would smash them or just the euphoria of scoring a goal against us I don't know but their fans and players alike seem to think they were good and that their chances have improved.
Our fans, on the other hand, have been perhaps a little flat post game.
But when you look at it logically our chances have improved and they appear to have lost their best opportunity to put us under real pressure. Also watching on TV there was still a clear gulf in terms of the quality of the teams even if we did allow ourselves to be sucked into playing long balls for a while. They only look dangerous off scraps and errors by our players. For he away team in a supposedly feverish atmosphere we never looked like losing.
All in all, therefore, I think we need to look at it as a job done and back ourselves to finish if. Were it not for he recent Boro and Wigan games I think we would be ?ber confident but as it is those games hopefully do us some good in terms of stressing the need for us to concentrate early on. Mostly though we just need to back the quality of our players and let them play their own game. It's understandable away from home to perhaps look to counter their physical style but the best way to do this Ipswich side is to keep the ball and pass it round them. In the spells of the game where we did that they could not get near us. For that reason lets play Wes, Redmond and Hooper and give them the runaround.
Ps. Hope Neil is printing off a few of their post game comments for motivation. Paul Andersons "it will be great to do it in their backyard" for one. Oh and Paul the only people who keep saying how poor or small Ipswich are is your own club pal!
