I actually think Balls has been made a bit of a fall guy for the economic woes of the country at the end of the last labour government. Yes he was cuplable for not regulating the banks and de-risking us but the global situation was the main cause.
However, by all accounts he spent f**k all time in his constituency of late, people couldn;t get hold of him and the Tory lady had already effectively stepped into his shoes in terms of trying to sort out local issues and spending a lot of time working for her constituents. She therefore deserves to be elected. I like it when you see voters vote in a good local MP where it goes against either the national trend or the traditional demographic of the seat.
