I think there's a moral imperative to vote

because of what happened to give us that right. If you don't like any of them, express that either by leaving it blank or by making an arch comment. Draw a willy if you like.

There are so many places where people would literally die for the opportunity to vote as we can. If enough people spoil their papers it sends a clear signal; if people stay at home the message is "meh" which doesn't get anyone anywhere.

No we don't have as transparent and effective democracy as we could or should. But it's a hell of a lot better than in much of the world, and the least we can do with the chance we have to express a view, which is denied our peers in other countries, is to vote.
